You may have heard President Trump’s remarks at the recent March for Life in Washington, D.C.
At one point during that historic speech, in reference to some radical pro-death statements made by Governor Northam, President Trump asked the question in a somber tone, “What is going on in Virginia? What is going on?”
The Virginia legislature is currently having a heyday with pro-death policies.
I never cease to be amazed at how the pro-life cause is labeled by the media as “anti-abortion” and the pro-death cause is labeled as “pro-choice.” Let’s be clear: this IS about life vs. death. It is not complicated. Let’s get our terminology straight.

We lived in the beautiful Commonwealth for nineteen years. Although we don’t live there anymore, Virginia will always hold a very dear place in our hearts. The reports I’m seeing are making me so sad. Of course we know it’s a battle all across the nation, not just in one state.
Some thoughts on what we can do (no matter where we live):
•Pray for God to have mercy. We must pray and plead for mercy. God hates hands that shed innocent blood.
•Promote a culture of life. Encourage the families around you. Smile at them and their children. Tell the Mom in Walmart, “You are so blessed.” Bring a meal to a family with a new baby. Plan a children’s activity for your church. Teach a Sunday School class. Reach out to a lonely child in your neighborhood. Take a weary mom’s kids to the park for the afternoon, or offer to come over and play with her children so she can get a project done. Plan a baby shower. Children are a treasure. Little ones are the very heartbeat of the pro-life movement; let us welcome them with open hearts!

•Attend the VA March for Life. It’s coming up in two weeks. We were blessed to be able to attend last year. It was incredible. Babies, children, moms, dads, grandparents, families everywhere. Beautiful happy faces, and a massive turnout. As the rally went on, on the steps of the Virginia Capitol, legislators began to trickle out. More and more kept coming until there was quite a gathering of them on the Capitol steps. They were obviously impressed by the crowd. If you don’t live in VA, find out how you can stand up for life in your state, either locally, or at the state level, or both. (I need to take my own advice on this.)

•Raise your arrows. Keep doing your job, through all the ups and downs. We must ask God for wisdom and strength, that we may raise our arrows to be articulate, tough, God-fearing, ready to stand, honest, full of integrity, loving and joyful Christ-followers who deeply understand the intrinsic value of LIFE. I know, we as parents can’t actually do all that for them, so we must point our children to the One who will enable them to fight the battles in their day. Our nation needs wise and godly legislators from the local level up, Christian news networks, church leaders, parents, community members, scientists, doctors, filmmakers, teachers…. we need Christians in every area of society who know Who the King is and who follow Him Alone. We need mighty warriors who will stand clearly and intelligently for Truth in the real world. Some of these warriors are likely in your home today, but “tomorrow” those arrows will fly. Teach, train, love, protect, guide, and make whatever sacrifices necessary, and then rest in the Lord and leave the results in God’s hands.
•Be joyful. Evil is loud and belligerent. But Christ is on the throne, and He is putting all His enemies under His feet. One by one they will topple, and the thrilling thing for all of us right now is that we can have a part in it. No matter how the battle looks from our vantage point, know that LIFE, through Jesus Christ Who is The Life, will ultimately prevail. Press on!! ♥

Well done Jennifer! Yes, Anne is just a little doll! (And my grandbaby!) Such lovely pictures and such “take action” words. We all can make a difference where we are. Thanks for writing this! xoxoxo Mom

RIGHT ON, JENNIFER!! THE MUDDLE IN SOCIETY TODAY WOULD BE ERASED, AND IT WOULD BE MUCH MORE DIFFICULT FOR UNGODLINESS TO BE EXCUSED AND FOR GODLINESS TO BE RIDICULED, IF WE GOT “OUR TERMINOLOGY STRAIGHT”!
