Welcome! I’m so glad you have stopped by. My name is Jennifer, and on this blog I share my thoughts related to marriage, motherhood, ministry, and making a home. I have been married to my husband Steve for twenty years. Eight little travelers have joined us along our journey, now ranging in age from 19 years down to 3 years. Throughout our years of marriage Steve has served in Christian ministry as an assistant pastor, and has just recently followed God’s call to begin serving as the Marketing & Communications director for Aardsma Research and Publishing.
In July of 2019 we moved our crew from a farmhouse in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to a brick ranch on the edge of a sleepy little midwest town, where the train whistles blow and the massive wind turbines tower above the prairie.
I am passionate about knowing God. I am so thankful that the way to know Him has been made possible by my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 7:25) My other passions include my husband, children, homeschooling, music, and taking vitamin D.
I enjoy porch swings, country roads, strawberry rhubarb pie, old hymns, staying home, watching football, singing with Steve and the kids, hanging laundry outside, thrifting, yard sales, quilts, giraffes, bright colors, and playing the piano and harp.
I spend most of my days holding little ones, attempting to feed my hungry clan, folding laundry, washing piles of dishes with my crew, homeschooling, and saying, “Shhh, the baby’s asleep,” and “Don’t climb on the table.”
I also assist my husband in the work God has given him to do. For nineteen years, I served alongside Steve in the music ministry and other ministries of the local church. Now, I assist Steve as I am able with the Marketing & Communications for ARP.
Most of all, I am grateful to God for His mercies anew every day and for His strength for the journey.
